A splendid vintage item in pristine condition which consists of the elegant electroplated pierced metal motif stand designed with four ornate floral motif feet and a removable cut crystal snack dish divided into five compartments, four on the outside and a round one centre dip-well. The stand is fitted with a pair of embossed scroll handles and the crystal dish has been decorated underneath with a starburst, sunburst and pineapple cut design as well as a linear cut along the verge.
Mayell was a tradename used by a manufacturing firm in Wednesbury, England, but was originally founded in Grey County, Ontario. The firm only ever produced a Queen Anne line of silver plated steel items but closed permanently in the 1980’s.
The stand is impressed underneath both handles Made in England Mayell EP on Steel.
Both the stand and bowl are in pristine condition with no damages noted.
