Manufactured in the Majolica style by John Shaw & Sons, Longton using the Burlington Ware trade name. The item is a creamer / milk jug manufactured between 1959 and 1963 decorated with rural trees in raised detail as well as a door and windows on the sides. The creamer is also square in shape with the handle very uniquely fitted to one of the corners.
Cottageware items have been repeatedly manufactured by a variety of potteries due to their visual attraction and demand. The item has the versatility of being both rustic and deco while always being noticeable.
Burlington Ware is considered Burlington Art Pottery. The company was established in 1920 at the Drewery Works in Longton and closed permanently in 1963.

The item has feint age related crazing, aside from which it is in good usable condition.
