The glass bowl has a unique, vintage, and organic design.
It is a circular bowl featuring a prominent, ruffled, or crimped rim that resembles a floral or clover outline. A heavily textured, frosted, or "crinkled" glass finish covers the curved sides. The base features a perfectly smooth, clear glass circular well. Entirely clear and transparent glass.
The edge curves outward into delicate, petal-like wave patterns. It appears to be thick, pressed glassware commonly found in mid-century or vintage dishware collections.
This piece heavily utilizes a vintage pressed glass (or moulded glass) manufacturing style, which was highly popular during the mid-20th century. The crisp, smooth circle at the centre contrasted by the starkly textured sides indicates the glass was molten and pressed into a multi-part metal mould. The texture on the outer walls mimics a hammered or bark-like organic finish. While the body is machine-pressed, the dramatic ruffled petal rim was often finished by hand. While the glass was still hot and pliable, artisans used tools to bend and fold the edges into the distinctive wavy clover shape before cooling. This specific combination of clear textured glass and a heavily scalloped, flower-like profile is very characteristic of mid-century manufacturers such as the Jeannette Glass Company, Federal Glass, and KIG Indonesia, who specialized in highly stylized, affordable decorative tableware.
The bowl unfortunately has a chip on two of the hand-crimped petals (please see picture), aside from which it is still in good usable vintage condition.
