This item is a vintage clear pressed glass plate in the iconic "Petal" pattern manufactured by the Federal Glass Company. It was highly popular mid-century, typically dating from the 1950s to the 1970s.
The plate features a dramatic 16-point scalloped rim that gives it the distinct shape of a blooming sunflower or starburst. Radiating from the centre are prominent, elongated teardrop "petals" framed by dimensional geometric diamond and cross accents along the outer points. The flat centre base is detailed with a tightly ribbed, star-like sunburst medallion. It is made of thick, heavy clear pressed glass designed with smooth interior surfaces and raised textured patterns on the underside to catch and refract light.
These pieces were multi-functional and widely used as sandwich platters, cake trays, or decorative serving dishes.
The plate is in pristine condition with no damages noted.
