The Trellis pattern designed by Royal Albert was released in 1927 and discontinued in 1935. The pattern was again released in 1940 and discontinued permanently in 1950. The pattern was retailed on Art Deco, Avon, Countess, Doris, Hampton and Malvern shapes.
This particular tea plate is in the Countess shape. The tea plate is also squared and has gold trim along the rim. A trellis in deep mist grey runs along the rim from which a series of green and grey leafy designs display golden yellow, blue and pink flowers.
The plate is marked underneath with the Royal Albert stamp for the 1940’s re-release version of the Trellis Pattern – Trellis, Royal Albert, Bone China, England.
The tea plate is in very good condition.
