The Cascadia pattern was released by Alfred Meakin, Tunstall during the 1930’s and displays a lovely bright multi-coloured floral pattern with an embossed detail on a 18ct gold trimmed scalloped rim.
Although this pattern (not the design) was discontinued by Alfred Meakin during the 1940’s it was one of the patterns which became part of the Churchill Group in 1976. Alfred Meakin operated from 1875 at the Royal Albert, Victoria and Highgate Potteries in Tunstall.
The item is a beautiful dinner plate.
The plate is stamped underneath Alfred Meakin England, Cascadia.
The plate has some fading of the gold trim on the rim, aside from which it is in very good vintage condition.
