This version of the Edwardian Era silver plated tea pot is fitted with a wood handle and lid finial which was released together with the identical design in silver in 1906, and later replaced after 1910 with black Bakelite handle and lid finial.

The tea pot displays a fluted design along the base, gooseneck spout and hinged domed lid. The tea pot is fitted with a distinctly art deco styled handle.

The firm was originally established by Thomas law in the mid 18th century and was succeeded by Henry Atkin and John Oxley trading as Atkin, Oxley & Co. In 1840 Henry Atkin continued to trade alone as Henry Atkin & Co., Sheffield. After his death his brothers Harry, Edwin and Frank continued the business as Atkin Brothers. In 1925 the firm became a limited liability company and thus Atkin Brother Ltd. The firm went out of business in 1964 after being purchased by Thomas Bradbury & Sons in 1940, then CJ Vander in 1958. It is known to have also used the trade name Trurox.

The tea pot has an illegible number underneath.

Besides some loss of plate and the handle being slightly loose, but not damaged, the tea pot is in good vintage condition.
