Alfares de Ponte Sampaio, better known as the brand Pontesa, launched as a company in 1961 in Vigo, Spain. They went on the be the largest Spanish producer of porcelain ceramics and at one stage had over 30 stores across the country and employed more than 5,000 workers. Across the 1960s and 1970s they produced a wonderful range of floral and abstract designs relevant to both eras.
This stunning duo consists of a cup and saucer. It is decorated in beautiful retro pink and purple flowers.
Both items are stamped Pontesa Made in Spain.
