The Brighton pattern was released by Alfred Meakin, Tunstall and displays a lovely bright multi-coloured floral pattern with an embossed detail on a 18ct gold trimmed scalloped rim.
Alfred Meakin operated from 1875 at the Royal Albert, Victoria and Highgate Potteries in Tunstall.
The item is a beautiful large serving platter designed in the Marquis shape.
The platter is stamped underneath Alfred Meakin England.
The platter has a chip underneath the rim, which is not really visible from the top and age related fading of the trim exists, aside from this the platter is still in good usable vintage condition.
