The firm was established in 1930 by Nicola Mori, originally manufacturing brass items. By the 1950’s Nicola’s sons, Gaetano, Silvio, Arturo and Aristide began a production of stainless steel cutlery by launching the Morinox brand onto the market. Today the Mori Italian factory is one of the most appreciated and innovative companies in the household sector throughout Italy, collaborating with established designers.
This item is a reasonably large stainless steel oval shaped serving platter/bowl with an extended rim and 24kt gold plating along the rim inner above the well. This range was a product of the 1960’s – 1970’s consisting of a designer range of butter dishes, serving bowls, trays etc, each in a modernist shape for the time and with gold plating along the rims.
The item is stamped underneath the rim Morinox 18/10 Italy.
The bowl/tray has age related wear and surface scratches, aside from which it is in very good used condition.
