Although large cur lead crystal display dishes are in themselves not commonly encountered, this uniquely crafted item is even more spectacular in that it has been fitted with an attached solid silver plated rim which is not only beautifully scalloped in a wave motif but is also decorated along the sides with an etched pattern which resembles a series of upside down leaves side by side.
The crystal itself is decorated with large starburst patterns cut in vivid detail being set among others which are reminiscent of the American Brilliant period.
The item is not marked or stamped.
Although this item appears to have been dropped at some point , or placed in boiling hot water, due to the fact that it has a crack along the base, the integrity has in no way been affected largely due to the attached solid rim (please see picture). The item serves perfectly as a centerpiece fruit etc. display.
