Lancaster and Sandland Ltd. was established as Lancaster & Sons Ltd. in Hanley, Staffordshire in 1899 becoming Lancaster and Sandland Ltd. in 1944 and closing permanently in November 1968. They were manufacturers of earthenware at the Dresden Works at an area named Tinkersclough in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent. From 1944 the business was renamed Lancaster & Sandland when Sandland became a partner in the company. The company went into voluntary liquidation in November 1968.
This item is a porcelain jam jar with silver plated rim, lid and handle. The item is decorated in the “In An Olde World Garden” pattern with Crinoline lady and gold chintz decor.

The silver plate on the item requires some polishing due to vintage patina and there is some loss of plate, aside from which the item is in very good condition with no visible damages.
