This firm traces its origins back to Thomas Law in the mid-18th century who was succeeded by Henry Atkin and John Oxley trading as Atkin, Oxley & Co. In1840 Henry Atkin continued the business alone as Henry Atkin & Co. After his death, his three brothers continued the business as Atkin Brothers. In 1925 the firm became a Ltd.
This item is a silver plated antique 6-slice toast rack manufactured pre 1925. The rack has an art deco styled handle and has been fitted with four bun feet.
The item is stamped HA EA FA each in a separate mark followed by EPNS and 4259. These letters are the three brothers of Henry Atkin – Harry, Edward and Frank.
Besides requiring a very good polish, the item is in very good condition considering its age.
