The Alpacca Alloy is the basic material for 90g silver plated items which was invented by Berndorf more than 160 years ago. Alpacca has the same specific weight as genuine silver and looks virtually the same also, but is not silver. Alpacca pieces are generally South American in origin.

The item is handle-stamped Alpacca 90 followed by a symbol.
Slight fading of the gold plate has occurred on the top and bottom of the blade, aside from which the cake lifter is in good usable condition.
