A collectable vintage tea plate manufactured and hand painted by Myott & Son during the 1930’s.
Myott &Son operated from 1898 at the Alexander Pottery, Stoke. In 1969 Myott was bought by Interpace, an American corporation and the largest producer of tableware in the USA. By 1976 this company merged with Alfred Meakin Ltd. forming Myott Meakin Ltd. In 1991 this company was taken over by Churchill China.
The adorable item is decorated along the squared rim with platinum trim, while the verge has scrolled vine and leaf in raised detail. The center of the tea plate is crowned with a wreath of green leaves across the length of a vine.
The item is stamped underneath By Myott & Son Co. Ltd. Made in England Hand Painted 1106 F
The tea plate has a few tiny chips on the bottom of the rim (not visible from the top) as well as age related crazing, aside from which the tea plate is still in good usable condition.
