This item is a vintage 2-tier mid-century modern cake stand produced by the British pottery brand W.R. Midwinter Ltd. in Staffordshire, England.
It features Midwinter's iconic "Fashion Shape" plates. Introduced in the mid-1950s, this rimless design is celebrated for its organic, softly rounded-square look. The surface is a solid, vibrant turquoise/teal blue glaze. Each tier is decorated in the centre with a delicate white floral transfer-print motif depicting a soft cluster of roses or wild blossoms. A polished silver-toned chrome metal spindle passes through the centre to connect the plates. It is capped with an oval or loop handle at the top for easy lifting. The outer rims of both ceramic plates are finished with a clean white and silver accent line.
Aside from age related crazing, the cake plate is in good usable vintage condition.
