The Stardust brand was manufactured during the 1970’s for Stancraft by Brown & Bigelow with nu-vue scientifically tinted plastic coating, said to reduce eye-fatigue by 35%. Stancraft was actually a subsidiary of Brown & Bigelow / Hoyle. Brown & Bigelow was acquired by Standard Packaging Corporation which in turn was acquired by Saxon Industries during the early 1970’s.
The ace of spades within the deck has all the information printed upon the face and assists with dating the deck. The ace of spades in this deck is marked – Kent St. Paul MINN USA A Division of Standard Packaging Corporation – which would date the item’s manufacture to before the 1970’s.
Although the original set consisted of two decks of cards, only one deck is present, but the deck is complete.
The cards come with their original clear acrylic box which is clad in a dusty pink velvet textile. The box has a lift on / off lid and is marked on the lid inside – Stardust Plastic Coated.
