Although marked within the case: G.E.A. EPNS, we were unable to find any information concerning this manufacturer except that the style and design of this silver plated calling card case could be around the 1930’s – 1940’s and is in all likelihood a Sheffield production based on the hallmarked generic version of the EPNS mark.

The calling card case has some plate loss on the inside as well as a pair of white elastic bands, one on either side, which would hold the cards in place.

The case is hinged and has a double clip with which to secure or open. The lid is decorated with a machine tolled pattern along with a leaf scroll rococo design and a blank portion in the centre for owner’s choice of engraving.

Items like these have developed into collectables during the 20th – 21st centuries.

The case is stamped within G.E.A. EPNS

The case has age related wear especially on the inside and it also has a few tiny dents, but functions perfectly. The case requires some polishing.
