Manufactured by W.H. Grindley & Co., Tunstall between 1936 and 1954, a reasonably large porcelain vegetable bowl decorated with silver trim along a scalloped rim and prominent green linear deco patterning with black. Originally, this bowl would have come with a lid, but the lid unfortunately no longer present.
The bowl has been designed with a pair of handles along the rim, each with matching green trim and embossed scroll motifs, which have also been used directly beneath the rim around the bowl itself. Because the lid is no longer present, it can just as easily function as a salad bowl.
Stamped underneath Creampetal, Grindley, England.
Parts of faded silver trim is visible, a tiny chip on the rim (please see picture), but hardly noticeable and the lid is no longer present with this bowl, aside from which the bowl is in good condition with no other visible damages.
Height of handles: 7.4 cm, Height of rim: 7.2 cm, Diameter of base: 9 cm, Diameter of rim: 23.4 cm, Handle to handle: 25.2 cm.
