This sugar bowl was manufactured directly after 1907 and is decorated in prominent gold trim with sky blue scroll patterns on the scalloped rim, while colourful floral bouquets are used on the sides on the inside as well as the outside of the bowl.
The sugar bowl stands on a short pedestal base which is also decorated in gold trim.
The business was a partnership between Richard Hammersley Plant and his brother Simon Lucas Plant, begun in Longton in 1898 at the Tuscan Works. They became a limited company in 1915. In 1966 the company was taken over by Wedgwood and renamed “Royal Tuscan” but closed by Wedgwood in 2006.
The bowl is stamped underneath Tuscan China England.
This antique sugar bowl is in almost perfect condition.
