Designed and manufactured in a grand visual display of Japanese skill, this item is a vintage rhythm quarts mantel clock retailed during the late 1980’s. The clock is manufactured from brass which has been machine tooled on the column to create a deeper toned colour than the brighter tone of the actual brass clock face. The clock is fitted with a brass second hand and a pair of black empire style minute and hour hand and an oval shaped recess in the column permits the observation of the motion wheel which by its action actually winds the clock.
A brass framework has been manufactured around the clock column and three glass panels inserted. The base and top are fitted with thick maroon coloured Bakelite and the clock itself stands on four brass semi-ball feet. The back panel is a transparent plexiglass / Perspex, which is removed by means of a brass and Bakelite thumb screw. The clock uses two medium sized batteries (D).

The clock will most probably require a service as it has not been tested. Slight gold loss has also occurred on the motion wheel (please see picture).
