The item is an extremely rare 1940’s 4oz bag of Springbok Magaliesberg Tobacco manufactured by the United Tobacco Co in the Transvaal, Church Street, Rustenburg. The bag still contains its original contents and was packaged as a World War II war packaging. The bag is a standard linen type tobacco bag. The bags themselves are considered rare today, but even more so with the contents.
The bag is marked Springbok Brand underneath and Springbok Regstd trade mark, finest quality, genuine Magaliesberg tobacco manufactured in the Transvaal by the United Tobacco Co (South) LIMtd Church Street Rustenburg, Transvaal. On the other side it is marked Springbok Regstd Trade Mark and the sides has Net Weight when packaged 4 oz.
The bag has stains on both sides, aside from which it is in good vintage condition.
