The item Is an assembled vintage (manufactured pre 1950’s) silver plated cruet set. The set consists of the silver plated scalloped rim tray fitted with scroll handles and a double toast rack on either side of the tray. The toast racks can be removed from the tray. The tray stands on four ball feet. The set also consists of a silver plated lidded mustard pot with a removable cobalt blue glass liner and a silver plated salt and pepper shaker. A portion on the tray is demarcated either for a silver plated or glass jam or butter dish, which was not present. The glass bowl with silver plated rim collar and sunburst design on the bottom, fits perfectly onto this portion and therefor was added to the set, although not original to the set.
The salt and pepper shakers as well as the mustard pot are stamped underneath EPNS, Made in England. The other items are not visibly marked or stamped..
Age related patina and some plate loss exists on all the items and they do require polishing. The salt and pepper shakers have lift on/off lids however we were unable to open these. We recommend for them to be serviced and opened by a professional jeweller or silversmith to avoid further damage. The salt shaker has some dents at the opening on top, due to perhaps someone trying to open the item. The mustard pot also does not have its original tiny mustard spoon. Aside from these flaws, the set is gorgeous even just for display and in good vintage condition.
