The item is a small oval shaped tray with a depressed well and scalloped rim. EmEss was a trade name used by a silverware manufacturer in England until the 1960’s, although a South African manufacturer on the South Coast used the trade name Em-Ess until the 1970’s.
The tray is impressed underneath Emess EPNS.
The tray requires polishing and have patina marks on the well as well as feint surface scratches due to use all over, aside from which the tray is in good usable condition.
