Fine porcelain items manufactured during the Second World War are considered “wartime porcelain” and are sought after pieces by collectors due to their rarity.

This lovely vintage fine porcelain tea duo was manufactured by Royal Crown Derby between 1940 and 1945 when this particular version of the green mark was used. The saucer and tea cup are magnificently decorated in the rare derby posies pattern which displays a multi-colour variety of floral bouquets against a white background with gold trim. The tea cup is the countess shape with fluted sides and a twist handle with gold framing the handle while the saucer has a scalloped rim and fluted verge.

Each item is stamped underneath in green Royal Crown Derby Made in England RD No 839892.

Aside from slight discolouration on the white background due to age, the duo is in excellent condition.
