A vintage porcelain soup bowl manufactured by Johnson Bros. as part of their Old Britain Castles series. The series was released in 1930 in blue, tan and pink versions, which depicts 18th century landscape with actual British castles and their name and year of setting inscribed at the bottom of the scene.
This particular bowl is in the blue range and depicts “Brougham Hall in 1792”’.
The item is stamped underneath Johnson Bros. Made in England Old Britain Castles All Decoration Under the Glaze Permanent & Acid Resisting Colours.
This item has a large repaired chip under the rim as well as a very tiny chip under the rim (please see pictures), none of these chips are visible from the top though.
