Pinder Brothers, Thomas Griffith and Charles Edward, established themselves a electro-platers and silversmiths in 1877. In 1885 they were registered at Rockingham Street, Sheffield, relocating premises to Garden Street in 1892. Then Sheaf Plate Works in 1940 and eventually in 1950 to their final premises in 1950 at London Road, Sheffield. The firm used the trade name Duraplate before becoming a Ltd. and then Academy Plate and Consort during the 1950’s and began to use a figural mark from 1963.
This set consists of 6 identical silver plated salad forks, each with a dovetail handle design and all 6 manufactured by Pinder Bros, Sheffield before the firm added Ltd to their name.
