A beautifully designed vintage silver plated presentation dish by F.W. Quist, circular in shape with three ball feet and a scalloped rim decorated with repousse craft scroll motifs. The item is designed with reticulated pierced metal scroll patterns along the sides, and once polished up, will look beautiful.
F.W. Quist was founded in Esslingen, Germany during 1866 by Jakob Swiss Jnr. In 1872 the firm modified its name to Actien Plaque, a major shareholder being Wilhelm Friedrich Quist (1831-1903). In 1890 the firm became F.W. Quist. The Quist family continued to manage the firm until 1951 and the factory closed permanently in 1981.
The dish is stamped underneath Quist.
The dish requires a good polishing, and has a few spots of plate loss however is in good vintage condition.
