A gorgeous fine porcelain tea plate, which can be used as a spare or to complete a tea trio. The plate was manufactured directly after 1947 by RH&S Plant Ltd under their trade name of “Tuscan Fine English Bone China” beautifully decorated in Tuscans’ Blenheim C5817 pattern. The pattern became one of the most popular and collectable patterns in fine porcelain wares and displays a gorgeous green and darker scroll motif along with colourful floral sprays and bouquets along the verge and a gorgeous floral bouquet in the centre. The plate also has a scalloped gold trimmed rim.
The pattern has been discontinued. The business began production in 1898 at the Tuscan Works, Longton, Stoke-on-Trent as a partnership between Richard Hammersley Plant and his brother Simon Lucas Plant. In 1915 the company became a Ltd but in 1966 the business was taken over by Wedgwood and renamed Royal Tuscan. In 2006 the firm was closed.
The item is stamped underneath Tuscan Fine English Bone China, Made in England, Blenheim. Patt No C5817
In very good condition with no visible damages, just slight fading of the gold trim.
