Susan Vera "Susie" Cooper OBE was a prolific English ceramic designer working in the Stoke-on-Trent pottery industries from the 1920s to the 1980s.
Dresden Spray was first introduced in 1935 as pattern number 1001. Originally designed for Harry Wood of Wood &Sons, he decided that the pattern was too difficult to reproduce as a lithograph. Susie decided to produce the design herself and ended up with one of her best-selling patterns.
This item is a Susie Cooper Dresden Spray breakfast trio consisting of the breakfast cup, saucer and side plate.
The cup is stamped underneath Susie Cooper England. The saucer and tea plate are stamped underneath A Susie Cooper Production Crown Works Burslem England.
