The firm was established in 1866 by Thomas Cooper and John William Cooper as Cooper Bros. In 1895 the firm became Cooper Bros & Sons Ltd. By 1914 branches of the firm had been opened in London, Sydney, Melbourne and Montreal. In 1983 Cooper Bros & Sons Ltd was purchased by Frank Cobb & Co Ltd and used the trademarks Don Silver and Pompton Silver.
This set consists of an antique silver plated creamer and sugar bowl, both manufactured before the firm became Cooper Bros & Sons Ltd in 1895. Each item is designed with an art deco style appearance having a rectangular and graduated stand/base, a flared body and feathers edge motif embossed along the rim.
Each item is stamped underneath in Gothic C Bros S followed by EPNS and 6769 Made in England. A blacksmith image is above the mark. The S in the mark here indicates Sheffield.
Both have slight plate loss on the inside and very light surface scratches due to use and age on the outside, but they are in extremely good condition considering the age of these items.
