The original of this pattern by Johnson Bros was released directly after 1913 and underwent a change in the 1920’s. A gold band was added to the well and a gold scroll geometric design added in the center. The gold patterning round the verge remained identical as JB10 and in the later 1920’s as JB13 under Johnson Bros “Old English” range. Both versions from the 1920’s can be viewed in replacements.com and the patterning is often described as Victorian, although it has long been discontinued.
This is a porcelain tea trio consisting of the tea cup, saucer and matching tea plate, each decorated with the original of the JB10 & JB13 pattern. This pattern depicts gold floral and scroll filigree motifs along the verge and gold trim along an embossed feathers edge rim on both the saucer and tea plate. The tea cup has gold trim on its rim as well as on the handle.
The saucer and tea plate are stamped underneath 1W Johnson Bros Made in England. The tea cup is impressed Made in England.
The tea cup has got a very tiny chip on the side of the rim (which looks like slight fading of the gold trim), aside from which the trio is in very good condition.
