A collectable blue willow pattern fine porcelain tea duo which consists of an antique tea cup manufactured by Salt & Nixon, Longton, Satffordshire between 1897 and 1904 during the time frame in which the company used the blue Staffordshire “knot”in its mark, and a saucer manufactured by Royal Grafton China (A.B. Jones & Sons Ltd.) during the 1940’s.
Both items in this assembled tea duo are decorated in the popular and collectable blue willow pattern.
Salt & Nixon manufactured from 1897 in the Longton area of Staffordshire and used the Staffordshire knot above a shield with their initials until 1904.
A.B. Jones & Sons began manufacturing in 1876 as Alfred Bailey Jones and built the Grafton Works in 1900. In 1966 the company was purchased by Crown House Glass Ltd. and in 1971 was sold to New Zealand based Crown Lynn Potteries Ltd.
The tea cup is stamped underneath as described above. The saucer is stamped underneath Royal Grafton Bone China England.
Small areas of rubbing (fading) occur on the gold trim, aside from this both items are in good condition.
