Manufactured by Anchor Hocking USA during the early 1970’s and discontinued in 1976, this item is a vintage mixing bowl (which can also be used in the oven as bakeware) in harvest amber coloured glass and is in very good condition.

Anchor Hocking was established as Hocking Glass Company in 1905 by Isaac J. Collins in Ohio. The company was named after the Hocking River near which it was located. The company proceeded to purchase at least 5 other American glass companies and in 1934 the Anchor Hocking Glass Corporation came into being. In 1969 the word “glass”  was removed from the company name. The company was sold to Global Home Products in 2001 and by 2006 the firm was sold to Monomoy Capital Partners, a New York based private equity firm.

The bowl is marked underneath Oven Proof 4 followed by the Anchor Hocking symbol and 458 Made in USA.

Normal related wear is visible due to use, aside from which the bowl is in very good condition and can still be used for years to come.
