An extremely rare cutlery set manufactured by Sheffield cutlers and silversmiths Priestly & Moore between 1961 and 1964. The firm has very limited information available but they also used the trade name “Valiant Plate” and appear to have been purchased or taken over by Pinder Bros. Ltd.
This set of silver plated dessert spoons and server have been manufactured in Priestly & Moore’s “Bouquet” handle design, and although cutlery pieces by Priestly & Moore are not often encountered, the “Bouquet” handle design is extremely rare.
The set is complete, consisting of six dessert spoons as well as the server spoon all in a satin type textile clad presentation case of sky blue with silver leaf scroll patterns. The case is lined in a sky blue satin type fabric with deep blue velvet rests. The case has brass metal frontal clips and the lid is hinged.
Each items is handle-stamped with REG Design Made in England Bouquet P&M EPNS A1. The case is marked within the lid Priestly & Moore Ltd. Cutlers & Silversmiths Sheffield England.
The case has normal age related wear. The cutlery items require polishing but all seven items are in very good condition.
